Professor: Dr. Taku Hasobe
TAKU HASOBE is a professor in Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University. He received his PhD degree from the Department of Material and Life Science, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University (supervisor: Prof. S. Fukuzumi) in 2004. Then, he joined the Notre Dame Radiation Laboratory (University of Notre Dame) as a postdoctoral research fellow under the supervision of Prof. P. V. Kamat. He was also awarded a Research Fellowship of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) for Young Scientists from 2002 to 2005. He joined Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) as an assistant professor in 2005 and was promoted to a lecturer position in 2006. Then, he joined Keio University as an associate professor in 2010 and promoted to a professor in 2020. He was also a concurrent researcher of PRESTO (Precursory Research for Embryonic Science and Technology) project, Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) from 2007-2011. He was presented PCCP Prize 2009 for Outstanding Achievement of Young Scientists in Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics form Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), UK (2009), the Young Scientists’ Prize, The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (2010), and JPP/SPP Young Investigator Awards from Society of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines (2014). His research interest includes construction and photophysical evaluation of supramolecular systems for solar energy conversion and electronics.
Senior Assistant Professor: Dr. Hayato Sakai
HAYATO SAKAI is a Senior Assistant Professor in Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University. He received his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Kiyomi Kakiuchi from the Graduate School of Materials Science, Nara Institute of Science Technology in 2009. He joined the group of Professor Hasobe as a post-doctoral researcher at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (2009) and at Keio University (2010-2012). He was also awarded a Research Fellowship of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) for Young Scientists in 2012. He became an assistant professor in 2013 and was promoted to a senior assistant professor in 2018. His research interest is synthesis and photophysical evaluation of polyaromatic compound for solar energy conversion and electronics.
